Team WaterStrong: Amazing job on Sunday!

With open arms you welcomed 5 new instructors to the team, including a few youth instructors and their parents (hooray family!). You partnered up to deliver the WaterStrong water safety curriculum, pairing new instructors with experienced instructors. You guided 32 participants around the warm pool and the main pool, getting serious about the fundamentals of water safety: self assist, reach assist, throw assist. You took one step at a time, making sure every single swimmer mastered the fundamentals. You bolstered a love for the water, you instilled confidence and gave courage. YOU HAD FUN. We have the pictures to prove it. You have so much to be proud of. Really nice job out there. THANK YOU!

Here are a few 2024 highlights to look forward to:

• Continued partnerships with Bienestar, Forest Grove Aquatic Center, YMCA, Metro, Women’s Foundation of Oregon

• New partnerships with Portland Refugee Support Group, Northeast Community Center, Portland Parks & Rec, OR Marine Safety Board

• World Water Day (March 22), Earth Day (April 21), Portland Bridge Swim (July)

• Summer programs at Broughton Beach, Hagg Lake, and Parkrose Pool

• Red Cross certification trainings in First Aid/CPR/AED and lifeguarding
