EcoSwim with The Next Door

  • The Next Door 965 Tucker Road Hood River, OR, 97031 United States (map)

EcoSwim clinics combine the essentials of water safety and survival swimming with environmental education around water. Clinics follow the WaterStrong curriculum and are led by volunteer instructors at community spaces where families naturally recreate. Participants gain essential water confidence by learning to assess the safety of a swimming location, learning to save themselves and someone else in the water, learning to read water quality indicators such as temperature, turbidity, and flow. Participants conduct a beach cleanup, receive a US Coast Guard certified lifejacket, safety whistle, new confidence and an indelible love for the water.
