Join Team WaterStrong as the Partnership Coordinator!

·      Part-time, short-term contract, 75% remote, 25% in-person in the Portland, Oregon area.

·      15 hours/week for the period December 2023 – September 2024. Hourly rate: $25/hour

Description: The primary work of the Partnership Coordinator is to establish and nurture strategic relationships with like-minded organizations and secure more organizational funding from sponsors. The Partnership Coordinator will oversee two initiatives: 1) a fundraising campaign, and 2) a community awareness campaign focused on children’s safety in the context of water. Further promotional tasks center upon building brand awareness for WaterStrong and our partner organization, Y.E.T.I Foundation, through dedicated website building and social media assistance. The Partnership Coordinator works closely with the Program & Communications Coordinator and the directors of YETI Foundation and WaterStrong to carry out this blend of tasks. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Relationship Building:

    • Identify and research a broad spectrum of organizations that align with our mission and values.

    • Initiate and foster meaningful partnerships with a minimum of three new organizations to further our common goals.

    • Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with partner organizations to ensure the success of joint initiatives.

    • Promote partner organizations through social media and other channels.

 

  • Funding Partner/Sponsor Acquisition:

    • Research and identify potential funding partners among major corporations and big businesses.

    • Secure funding partnerships with a minimum of three major corporations, ensuring that their contributions align with our organization's needs and goals.

    • Promote funding partners through branding efforts and social media.

 

  • Fundraising Initiative:

    • Conceptualize and plan one joint fundraising event for WaterStrong and Y.E.T.I

    • Collaborate with partners and team members to execute the event successfully.

    • Monitor the progress of initiatives and evaluate its effectiveness in achieving fundraising goals.

 

  • Community Awareness Initiative (Water Safety Focus):

    • Develop and organize a community event that focuses on raising awareness, particularly regarding children's safety, with an emphasis on water safety.

    • Collaborate with local schools, community leaders, and relevant organizations to maximize the event's impact.

    • Create educational materials and activities related to water safety to engage the community.

    • Promote community awareness efforts through social media and branding.

 

  • Reporting and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of partnerships, initiatives, and funding agreements.

    • Prepare regular progress reports for the organization's leadership and funding partners.

    • Ensure transparency and accountability in all partnership and initiative-related activities.

    • Maintain and update the organization's website to provide access and information about partnership campaigns.

 

We are selecting candidates who can carry out these goals and who demonstrate a combination of the following qualities or experiences:

▪     Most comfortable working independently with limited oversight, in a virtual environment toward clearly defined objectives.

▪     Well organized, able to plan ahead, and familiar with building campaigns.

▪     Excellent communication skills–both for working with teams and external entities.

▪     Willing to take initiative, follow through with project management, and consistent in reviewing progress and reporting to colleagues.

▪     Proficient in Google workspace, website building, social media channels, and email marketing (there will be some room to collaborate with the Communications Coordinator)

▪     Creative mindset for compelling, persuasive marketing material. Grant writing or similar penchant for concise and persuasive communication about organizational value

▪     Willingness to learn, adapt, and be part of a flexible, small team unit; able to accommodate and work with differing capacities of partner organizations

▪     Invested in social causes. Mindful of environmental justice, DEI, and interested in removing barriers that underserved communities face.

▪     Fluent or very highly proficient in a language other than English.

 

The Partnership Coordinator job is a short-term, part-time contract and may be extended, depending upon available funding.
