World Water Day

World Water Day reminds us of the vital role that water plays in our lives and the urgent need to protect and conserve this precious resource. To commemorate World Water Day, WaterStrong has doubled down on its commitment to teach water safety and conservation practices in the PNW and across the world.  As we care for the water, it cares for us.  

Water safety is paramount, especially as warmer weather approaches and more people flock to pools, beaches, and lakes. Learning basic water safety skills can mean the difference between life and death in emergency situations. From knowing how to swim and float to understanding the dangers of rip currents and practicing CPR, being prepared can prevent accidents and save lives. By educating ourselves and our communities about water safety, we can enjoy water activities safely while minimizing risks.

On World Water Day, we have an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of learning water safety and conservation. Through educational initiatives like clinics and outreach programs, we can empower individuals of all ages to become stewards of water safety and conservation. Teaching children how to swim and respect water from a young age instills lifelong habits that can prevent accidents and instill a sense of responsibility for water resources.
